An Update From China

On August 3, Dang Xiao Heng, an orphan from Luoyang Social Welfare Institute, Henan, was discharged from the Beijing University Hospital, Beijing. His condition has greatly improved and he is no longer suffering. He has a very bright smile and is very happy. His surgeries were sponsored by Chenglong and Yang Shoucheng Philanthropy Foundation.

 

On August 9, Rong Zhuer, the well-known vocalist representing Cheng Long and Yang Shoucheng Philanthropy Foundation, went to visit the orphans who received surgeries in Beijing Fuwai Cardiology Hospital. The directors of Taiyuan Children’s Welfare Institute and Tianjin Children’s Welfare Institute, presented silk banners as token of appreciation.
 

Zhang Shao Ping, was placed in Foster Care after she was discharged from the hospital. Her caretakers are American citizens who volunteered to be her Foster Parents and take very good care of her. Her heart surgery was sponsored by Cheng Long and Yang Shoucheng Philanthropy Foundation.

On August 12, with the help of the Philanthropy and Blessing Project, Dang Zhen Zhen from Xinyang Social Welfare Institute, Henan, had cataract surgery which enables her to see the world. Min Fu Yin, another orphan from the same SWI had heart surgery in Beijing Children’s Hospital.

On August 13, the Conference on “Tomorrow Project” was held in CCAA. Mr. Yan communicated the spirits of speech by Minister Li Li Guo on the Tomorrow Project, emphasizing supervision and profound campaign management within the long term operating system. He also noted that oversees enterprises or individuals are welcome to participate in “Tomorrow Project”.

On August 15, Dang Xiao Sa and Dang Xiao Gu, were adopted by their forever families. Both girls had heart surgery in 2002 at Beijing Fuwai Cardiology Hospital. One family is from America and the other family is from Holland.

On August 18 the children who have had surgeries were discharged from the hospitals. Those who are sponsored by Chenglong & Yang Shoucheng Foundation are Dang Xiao Bing from Xinyang, Henan was in Beijing University Hospital; Tian Biao Biao, from Home of Dawn, Hubei, was in Badachu Plastic Surgery Hospital; Lu Han Wen, from Hefei, Anhui and Tian Cheng Cheng from Home of Dawn, Hebei, had heart surgeries in Beijing Fuwai Cardiology Hospital. Dang Xiao Zhu, from Langfang Social Welfare Institute, Hebei, is sponsored by CHI for heart surgery in Beijing Fuwai Cardiology Hospital. Tian Yu Ai, from Home of Dawn, Hubei, is sponsored by JushiLin Buddists. These children suffered seriously from their problems before the surgeries. Now all of them are released from their suffering. They are aged from 6 months to 16 years old.

On August 21, the reception in the new office was held at its new site. Vice President Yang of China Association of Social Work was in attendance for a big congratulation.

On August 21 a press conference was held on the founding of Cheng Long and Yang Shou Cheng Foundation in the People’s Hall, Biejing. Children’s Hope International undertakes the first group of surgeries of the Foundation.

On August 22, “Free Surgery for Chinese Children by Sino-American Pediatric Osteopathics” was held in Yantai, Shandong. It was organized by BICCO, with emphasis on orphaned children with rachiokyphosis. The children who benefited from this are from Tongren, Guizhou, Baotou, Inner Mongolia, Luoyang, Henan, Taiyuan, Shanxi and Zibo, Shandong.

On August 24, three children from Chengde, Hubei were hospitalized. One child was in Beijing University Hospital and the other 2 children were in Beijing Heli Plastic Beauty Salon. Two of them had severe rachiokyphosis. CHIF contacted the hospital for emergency care for these children to save their lives.

 On August 25, 14 year old Tian Na Na, from Home of Dawn in Huber, was discharged from Beijing Fuwai Cardiology Hospital after her heart surgery. She has been in the Institute and suffering from a disease that caused her to have blue hands and lips and be out of breath most of the time. But the strong longing for life helped her survive until Children’s Hope International sponsored her with the surgery.

On August 23, two children from Tongren, Guizhou went to No. 301 Hospital of PLA for surgery of cleft lip and palate. With limited medical resources, the local Government pays to allow them have surgeries in Beijing. On September 3, they were discharged from the hospital.

On August 30, the Conference on “Tomorrow Project” was held in CCAA. Children’s Hope International submitted to the Medical Aids Office, the report on the average expenses on various surgeries together with the individual expense on different surgeries in varying Provinces. 

At 7:40 PM on September 6, “Topic of Today” on Channel 1 in Beijing TV, aired an interview with Children’s Hope International on rescuing Gong Xuan Xuan,(originally named Xu Jian Jian), a dwelling girl. They  looked deep into the phenomenon and the possible means to deal with this issue.

On September 7, Beijing Heli Medical Beauty Salon had its opening ceremony. The self-owned salon aims to better medical and service improvement while they are interested in charity activities. They offer five free plastic surgeries each year for those from orphanages. Li Han is the first one to have such a surgery.
